It was over a 10 hour drive to get to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. We arrived around 10 pm, Friday, and went to get a bite to eat. Unfortunately we didn't get everyone settled and in bed in the hotel until 11:30 pm!
Saturday, we got up at 3:30 am to make sure we didn't get stuck in traffic and so we could get set up in time for the mass ascension that would happen around 6 am.
Once we were set up, we did a sound check. Unfortunately, our sound receiver was jammed. It was a little bit of a panic moment, as we didn't want to miss the mass ascension. Tyler told me to go ahead and film it without a mic, and we'd have to voice it over later in the studio.
I filmed 3 workouts on this trip, one for Step Across America for Vol. 3, one for March Across America for Vol. 3, and one for Coast to Coast Step, for Vol.2. The view was spectacular! Totally worth the drive and effort it took to get there.
This was the first time we went live on my Facebook and Instagram pages. I was able to cut some of that video into our adventures below.Once I was done filming, we decided to drive straight through to home. A bit of a crazy idea, but I was super glad to be home after the second 10.5 hour drive. We did stop in Farmington and grabbed lunch at a yummy Mexican restaurant with my darling cousin, Amy, who is a Dr. in New Mexico. It was great to catch up!
